Federal Export Programs

Renewable Energy Applications and Trade in Foreign Countries The following is a list of organizations that are directly involved in the application and promotion of renewable energy technologies overseas, as well as various publications and publishers from which more information can be obtained. Only nonprofit/nongovernmental, U.S. government, and professional trade organizations are listed. For information on the numerous for-profit renewable energy companies that sell equipment and provide technical services overseas, contact the U.S. Export Council for Renewable Energy.

Renewable Energy Division The mission of Winrock International's Renewable Energy Division is to bring renewable energy systems and technology to millions of rural people, lighting the way for improved living standards through new energy products and services, job and income generation, business development, and economic growth.

Renewable Energy Marketing Board (REMB) On March 2, 1998, renewable generators, renewable marketers, and not-for-profit organizations agreed to officially incorporate the Renewable Energy' Marketing Board (REMB). The purpose of the REMB will be to promote renewable energy resources and products to California electric customers; to inform consumers of the public and private benefits of renewable resources and products; to foster a robust marketplace for renewable energy resources and products through the implementation of marketing programs; and to encourage the dissemination of information related to renewable energy utilization. The REMB plans to implement a grass-roots and media based marketing/promotional strategy to build and sustain the emerging renewable marketplace.

The Environment as a Business Opportunity It is becoming abundantly clear that global environmental problems like climate change and biodiversity loss will only be solved if the private sector weighs in with its vast technical, managerial and financial resources and expertise.
