Darnell Com Home page of the Darnell Group. The Darnell Group specializes in worldwide information services on the full spectrum of power electronics. Power electronics links and Power Electronics International "Cyberzine".
Distribution The distribution system represents the link between the transmission grid and the customer. The distribution system involves voltages ranging from 120v to 69 kV. There are many different ways to improve the efficiency and reduce losses on the distribution system. In addition to options for improving distribution line performance, improvements can be made in the equipment used on the system, such as transformers, which are a major source of energy loss. All options that reduce system energy losses will have a direct impact on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases.
Electrical Energy Research Cluster Photovoltaic Energy A significant aspect of PV commercialization in the industry is system performance from the perspective of full integration. Factors such as voltage support, harmonic generation, capacity and energy credit are being studied. As part of the on-going investigative process determining the value of distributed PV systems, the focus of this project is the impact on power quality, system losses, voltage regulation, power flow security, and other problems related to these unique power sources.
Power and Power Electronics The research program in the power and power electronics area makes use of new developments in power systems, machine and converter analysis, new power semiconductor devices, and alternative energy sources to study power system harmonics and low harmonic rectifiers, to optimize induction motors, and to design high density switching power supplies.
Power Quality Assurance On-Line An on-line magazine featuring information about power quality.
Power Quality News Power Quality News is the only paneuropean media focussed on new products dealing with the generation, transformation and distribution of electrical power under the aspects of load requirements, interference and EMC standards.
The Electrotek Power Quality Network The PQ Network is provided as a service to the Power Quality community to assist in the exchange of information about power quality. An excellent and comprehensive source of information about power quality.
