Sustainable Business: A Community Based Guide to Business Assistance This workbook can be a guide to your efforts to encourage and assist sustainable actions by businesses in your community. You can create a comprehensive program of information, assistance, incentives and recognition.

Sustainable Business Network The Sustainable Business Network is a focal point on the Web for the full range of environmental business sectors, from recycling to green building, from renewable energy to organic products, from social investing to certified forestry. They supply information and connection to accelerate momentum toward a green economy. They seek to inspire you and fill you with a can do attitude!

Sustainable Communities Network The Sustainable Communities Network website connects citizens with the resources they need to implement innovative processes and programs to restore the economic, environmental, and social health and vitality of their communities. It addresses a wide range of issues related to community sustainability, including creating communities, smart growth, growing a sustainable economy, protecting natural resources, living sustainably, and governing communities. In addition it gives case studies, resources, related Web sites, links to relevant sites, events calendars, and suggested reading.

Sustainable Design Group The Sustainable Design Group's Mission is to improve the environmental performance of the built environment through energy efficiency, renewable energy applications, enhanced indoor air quality, and increased recycling / reuse / reduction approaches.

Sustainable Development The purpose of this site is to provide a central information source for research activities germane to sustainable development and which encompass the full spectrum of biological, social, and ecological economic issues. It is organized around the activities of the Chicago Area Chapters of Sigma Xi (CASX), which in turn functions as a non-governmental organization (NGO) pursuant to United Nations Agenda 21.

Sustainable Development The concept of sustainable development was set out in the World Conservation Strategy, which was released in 1980. The Strategy stressed the need to consider, as a matter of urgency, the carrying capacity of ecosystems, the reconciliation of development and conservation, and the needs of future generations. The Australian Government endorsed the World Conservation Strategy in 1981. The National Conservation Strategy for Australia was adopted by the Commonwealth Government in 1983, and endorsed by The Institution of Engineers, Australia, in 1985.

Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics For ardent ecologists, only a minimalist development strategy is morally supportable, while other analysts contend that the concept of sustainability contributes little new to economic policy. Sustainable development has two two components: economic growth and environmental protection. In this paper, Myles Clarke balances these objectives and contends that a considerable degree of both is obtainable.

Sustainable Development Dimensions FAO's Sustainable Development Department designs policies, strategies and methodologies to foster the active participation of rural people - men and women - in agriculture and rural development. Through its People's Participation Programme (PPP), SD is helping build small, self-reliant groups of the rural poor. Its programmes on rural women and population provide capacity building and training, increase policy maker's awareness of gender issues, address women's key roles in food production and food security, and analyse demographic links with environment and food production.

Sustainable Development Energy Authority (SESA) SEDA is a New South Wales Government agency. Their mission is to reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions in New South Wales by investing in the commercialisation and use of sustainable energy technologies.

Sustainable Energy An emphasis on community drawing from nearly two decades of experience and a broad knowledge base. NCAT's varied programs in the arena of sustainable energy have had a central goal of reducing energy use, protecting the environment, and encouraging the use of energy efficient and renewable energy technologies.

Sustainable Energy Energy which is replenishable within a human lifetime, and that causes no longterm damage to the environment.

Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) SEDA is a New South Wales Government Authority established in February 1996. Their mission is to reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions in NSW by promoting energy efficiency and by investing in the commercialisation and use of sustainable energy technologies.

Sustainable Energy for Economic Development (SEED) Project Description ME3 is working together with the Minnesota Project, Clean Water Fund, and the Sustainable Resources Center on the SEED campaign to ensure that rural Minnesotans will be beneficiaries of the development of renewable energy resources in Minnesota. In 1994, the Minnesota Legislature mandated that Northern States Power Company, the state's largest electric utility, develop at least 425 MW of wind power and 125 MW of biomass fueled electricity by the year 2003. It is likely that most of the development will take place in rural areas of Minnesota. The SEED project is holding meetings, doing surveys, and bringing in renewable energy experts to help rural residents get up to speed on the benefits that the renewable energy development will bring to their communities.

Sustainable Energy News Newsletter for the International Network for Sustainable Energy.

Sustainable Minnesota Sustainable Minnesota is a project of Minnesotans for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ME3) and the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR). Timely information to promote sustainable energy policies.
