Centre for Research, Education and Training in Energy (CREATE) CREATE is the leading organisation for co-ordinating and promoting energy education at all levels in the UK. Established in 1988 by the Department of Environment, the Institute of Energy and industry, we are a focus of expertise for people who want to know about energy matters. We're here to serve education by providing support on all aspects of energy studies and promoting models of good practice.
Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) Classroom Earth CIESIN's Classroom Earth Training Program is unique due to its focus on using the Internet and other new technologies to accomplish the following specific objectives: (1) to teach participants how to access data and information about the environment using the Internet; and (2) to help them analyze those data for better understanding of the consequences of human actions on the Earth.
Education Programs at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) NREL's Education Programs strive to be fun and provide hands-on experiences with renewable energy technologies. NREL is dedicated to strengthening education programs in science, technology, and mathematics. Using the "science is fun" concept, our Office works to improve student appreciation for math and science disciplines and to encourage underrepresented populations such as women and minorities to consider careers in these fields.
Energy and the Environment Links and resources for energy and the environment from the University of Oregon Environmental Studies Program. Includes the Energy and Environment WEB Class and the Alternative Energies WEB Class.
Energy Quest Energy education from the California Energy Commission. An excellent energy education site and the source of several of the images used in this home page.
Energy Training Program (ETP) ETP offers intensive technical and management level training for energy and environmental professionals worldwide. ETP is managed by the Institute of International Education's Department of Science and Technology, and sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Department of Science and Technology also develops short and long term training programs for non-USAID assisted countries.
Environmental and Natural Resources Program (ENRP) The Environmental and Natural Resources Program (ENRP) was formed to bring focus, coordination, and visibility to all environmental and natural resources activities in teaching, research, and extension.
Evaluation of the NSF's Informal Science Education (ISE) Program This report summarizes the findings of an evaluation of the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Informal Science Education (ISE) program. The program provides support for a variety of informal science education activities, including museum exhibits; television series and programs for youth or the general public; films on science and mathematics topics; exhibits or educational programs at science and natural history museums, science-technology centers, aquaria, nature centers, biological gardens, arboreta, zoological parks, and libraries; and educational programs and activities at community and youth centers.
Global Studies Program Organized around themes of "global significance" and drawing upon the unique institutional strengths of Purdue, the Global Studies Program is working to bring scholars together to discuss basic scientific research, technology development and global policy issues.
Industrial Extension Service (IES) IES provides engineering and industrial management assistance and education to help North Carolina Industries gain a competitive advantage.
International Centre for Conservation Education (ICCE) ICCE 's mission is to promote greater understanding of conservation and the environment world-wide and to help bring about sustainable development. For over fifteen years ICCE has produced resources in collaboration with acknowledged experts, leading environmental groups and educational organisations including the Association for Science Education, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the World Wide Fund for Nature. After many years of field experience ICCE has developed expert knowledge of environmental issues, a world-wide conservation network and close working knowledge of the National Curriculum.
NASA Goddard DAAC Earth Science Educational Home Page One of the Mission to Planet Earth (MTPE) Earth Observation System (EOS) data centers for global environmental satellite and ground data. These data are used to study changes in Earth's atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. They aim to provide information and links to Earth Science activities and resources available on the World Wide Web for teachers, students, and the general public that may be used for personal and classroom enhancement of scientific knowledge.
On-Line Renewable Energy Education Module The first version of CREST's online renewable energy education system. Based on an interactive kiosk also developed by CREST, this system uses words and pictures to teach the theoretical and practical basics of renewable energy. It takes an introductory approach, not getting so complex as to baffle the first time viewer. As this is truly a multimedia exhibit, it is strongly recommended that you use a graphical browser (such as NCSA Mosaic or Netscape Navigator) with automatic image loading turned on.
Renewable Energy Education Program (REEP) Solar Energy International¹s (SEI) Renewable Energy Education Program teaches the practical use of solar, wind and water power. Their workshops give individuals knowledge and skills to design, install and maintain renewable energy systems and to build state-of-the-art solar homes that are efficient, practical and earth friendly. SEI uses a how-to/hands-on approach with commercial products and field installation.
SeaWeb SeaWeb is a multimedia public education project designed to raise awareness of the world ocean and the life within it. We aim to provide information and opinion from a broad spectrum of sources to help us all become more connected and involved in the life of the sea.
Sustainability, Trade, Environment and People The STEP program deals with the national and international linkages between environment, livelihoods, trade, and development. During the course you will be exposed to a torrent of new ideas about how our world works.
